Afghan Heroes Bikers All!
What
a fantastic turnout on Sunday 14th March at Hullavington.
We should all be proud. The organisation was first class considering the
amount of bikers that turned up. Yeh, I know we had some waiting around to
do, but it gave everyone an opportunity to stretch their legs, try and find
their mates (which took some doing), look at the bikes, grab a burger and most
important the looooooos!!
Once we set off and managed to look back at those still waiting their turn, the
queue looked like a huge glistening caterpillar in the sunshine!. Thank
heavens the weather was with us, it was brilliant.
On route, we couldn't believe the number of people that had turned out to wave
us on. They waved their flags, clapped their hands, cheered and shouted 'well
done'. Little old ladies sat in their deckchairs waved us on, kids in prams,
showed us their toys and so many people wanted to touch our hands as we rode
through the town. It was a terrific atmosphere.
This 'atmospheric, passionate', successful occasion was an achievement
beyond everyone's expectations.
It was a day that will be talked about for a long time I'm sure. I certainly
came home feeling, glad to have helped and take part, but thoughtfully, most of
all what the day really meant.
