With no national rally this bank holiday to go to, I had to find something else to
do, so I got involved in running the village fete again. After six months of fund raising we had enough in the kitty to pay for a big attraction, so we went for an open air concert with The Wurzels. When you book a world class act like this lot they always ask for some "extras" in the contract. The one thing that was proving to be a stumbling block was the "personal security" whilst they were on stage.

Ummm…well the HA did it for the Rolling Stones back in the 70's when they played Hyde Park so why not get the Scrumpies to do it for The Wurzels in Box?

We just set up a compound at the side of the stage and sat around in the sunshine drinking cider, eating homemade cakes and quiches from the WI stall.
