Linda had suggested meeting at Morrison’s for 09.15 with stands up at 09.30 sharp, so I left home at 09.00 to find Grasshopper, Shazza and Dave in the coffee shop all raring to go! Where’s Linda? Typical woman, arrived spot on stands up time, so off we go immediately, southbound towards Exeter! Target destination was the home of Bandit for a coffee urn that needed using. We passed a nasty accident close to Junction 28 but managed to filter through successfully. Thank heavens Linda took the lead from me and led us almost straight to Bandits house. Kev and Steve joined us shortly after and we imbibed in a hot drink and warm chat.

Bandit led us in to Paignton through heavy traffic to the sea front where we paid our £5.00 dues and were directed to the far end of the front away from the arena. We had the longest possible walk back where we met a rosy looking Amanda with the dogs. Now we know why, Bandit and Mandy, many congratulations to you both.

We split up and toured the show as each had particular things to do. As I arrived at the arena, Blackjack had the microphone and was giving a commentary on several bikes and a trike as they rode around to show off the club. I received a tap on the shoulder and Annette was there chatting to me. We toured the show and bought several fridge magnets that seemed most appropriate! The sun came out and we had a refreshing drink which was enjoyed in the shade with Becks and Neil, at the Inn on The Green as well as Bandit, Amanda and others.

We met up again at the bike for 16.00 as we had seen enough and headed back out of town and Exeter via the M5 northbound. An uneventful journey home with some 180 miles covered in mostly sunny weather.
