Paignton Bike show 2011

The Scrumpies went to Paington Bike Show again.

The weather forecast was dry & warm – so we planned for wet & cold.

As it was we only had a little bit of rain now and again.

The people you meet when you are out for a walk.

A number of us camped on the Friday, Saturday, & Sunday nights.

Some Scrumpies just came on Saturday for the day.

The show was about the same size as before. This meant that as usual it only took an hour or so to look around the show. Becks decided that he was 100% not going to miss any single thing in the show.

There are only so many times you can go around and look at the same things. Neil and I decided that 3 was the maximum. We made Becks leave on pain of death!!

Back to the campsite for rest and for what Scrumpies do best – talk lots of rubbish for a very long time.

It’s a shame though when people get old. You have to watch what they are doing all the time. Take your eye off them & they start drinking their own urine.

To stop them doing it again we took them out the next day to keep them entertained.

Off we all went to Dartmouth Castle.

If they haven’t got their bikes the Scrumpies will find anything to ride.

Or try to take apart, re model and see if it can be modified for a bike.

If they hadn’t mucked about with the canon,

then they would not have ended up in a cold dark dungeon type place.

Now – to finish – why does Blacky look like he is the cat that got the cream?

Easy – someone’s better half bought him a new waist coat for his birthday – and wasn’t he pleased!!

Not often you see laughing skulls. Well never – these are the 1st.

The show may not have been that big but all had a great time.

Overall the weather was dry and as usual the Scrumpies had great fun.

And even if there was a chill wind now and again – it was only an excuse to give someone a cuddle.

The camp site was as good as usual. There was one concern, one moment of worry that could cost a lot of money in counselling fees to save a young mind from a lifetime of torture and nightmares.

Calley was minding her own business in the swimming pool. Having fun. Then out of nowhere with no regard for anyone else’s feelings a man got out of the pool. A middle aged man – in Speedo’s. She looked, the blood drained out of her face, and the only words she could manage was “That’s wrong, so wrong”. Her youth seemed to drain away from her like the blood from her face.

This was the only negative incident in a great weekend.

Hope to see you next time.

Take care

AJ
