After a cup of tea to warm the cockles – and other parts exposed when on a motorcycle – off we went to the world's largest dedicated helicopter museum, in Weston-super-Mare. So, at the beginning of the year we started with rail travel and we ended with flight.

There were ‘one or two’ choppers about. The one above was owned by Aristotle Onassis. He took friends and family from island to island and from party to party – well, you would wouldn’t you!!

The red one above was part of the Queens Flight - air transport of the Royal Family and government of the United Kingdom.

The helicopters ranged from the very old to modern – from the weird to normal looking – to the dangerous.

Some people just won’t be told.

What sort of ‘joystick’ is he holding between his legs? Either way it seemed to put a smile on his face!

There was even a helicopter named Grasshopper. Both Grasshoppers seem to be a compact model for multiple uses.

They allowed us to get some bikes in. Becks had his new Warrior so the Twins brought both their bikes in with Bob.

Yes it was slightly damp – but we all have waterproofs and warm clothing so no great hardship. We had guides to show us around and as usual- when Scrumpies get together a laugh was had by all.

Although this was the last official run of the season I know that with the weather turning warmer and drier more rideouts have taken place since the fat ladies – it looks like she has not finished singing yet.

Take care
