Dorset Ride Out - Lulworth Cove

The day started early, relatively speaking at 0945hrs for the Dorset crew, meeting at Upton cafe for breakfast. 4 man turn out, pretty good for Dorset I think! With the beasts poised and ready to go!

!

Fed and watered, we mount up and shoot off to Blandford to meet the Northerners at 1100hrs ish!

1115hrs and they arrive better late than never.

Bob turned up with Dawn, a very nice lady, 3/4 of the way through his first date, day 3 of 4. I'm led to believe day 4 involved nakedness and thunderstorms... don't go there! There where reports of a film crew lurking around but this was dismissed as a dirty old man!

Some one then pointed out that Dorset was the largest minority group present! A recount was promptly ordered, then confirmed that we indeed were.

A first for Dorset in a long while!

Stands went up at 1130 ish and we head off to Lulworth Cove via the Purbecks, led by myself with Kev bringing up the rear. A short stop on Whiteways Hill for some views over Dorset,

was followed by the move down the hills into Lulworth Cove, for tea and ice creams.

Some comments where passed about the not-so excellent driving habits of the British motorist, but otherwise incident free! Apart from the tractor of course.... who thought he was on a time trial stage of the RAC rally!!

Time to move on from Lulworth came at about 1415hrs, not before Steve Dawson had a little mishap in the car park with gravel and loose footing. He has since informed me he is ok, and the bike hasn't suffered to much damage.

So off we head to Compton Abbas Airfield, for more tea! Shortest route please!

On arrival, Kev even has time to perform a short diagnostic on Dawns Virago. Those pesky engine frame mounting bolts! I have been informed that this was spot on by Kev and has cured the problem!

After some more gratuitous posing, it was time to head of home for tea... again! All done by 4 o'clock for a nice day in the sun! which we watched the Northerners ride off into!! Hasta la vista Scrumpies!!!
