COLEFORD CARNIVAL OF TRANSPORT 2009
Get up at an unearthly hour in the morning, at a time when I should really be asleep.
So, the night before, I read the instruction book for my alarm clock and surprisingly, it can be set for 6.45am, why anybody would want to do this I'm not quite sure but on this rare occasion I did.
By 7am I knew I had to leave the warmth and security of my duvet and glancing through the curtains I realised that it wasn't my eyesight gone out of focus but a heavy blanket of fog.
Unknown to me at the time was that Padre had already walked his dog, cooked his first bacon sandwich and was on his bike heading for the meeting point, along with Terry, who unable to contain his excitement was nearly there! Dave and Somerset had set up a meet at Severn view services for 8am, bit early for me.
I set off at a time that I would never start work at and rode through the early morning fog and cold. I made a token gesture stop at severn view to pick up any waifs and strays that may be there, but there was just me.
The sun broke through in places and I knew it would turn out to be a fine day, unlike last year.
I arrived at 9am to find the erection complete!

Aj planned the catering.
Hot drinks and bacon rolls for all those on the stand. Part way through he thought there might not be enough to feed everyone!! In a Polish household this normally results in Hari Kari, but……….by the end of the session there was still 6 packs of bacon, 18 bread rolls and a butter mountain left over…So, he lives to feed us another day. And all I had to do to get my two bacon rolls and a cup of tea was………

Bandit had come up the night before and attended the gathering of the clan in Swindon

Grasshopper showed us where we were going wrong with the new jackets……..
Apparently we've been wearing them inside out……….Doh

Dorset really went overboard with the Ice cream portions……………………………
I think they need help.

Perhaps they need to form a support group……… "Hi, my name's Kev….. and I'm an
Ice-creamer

And these three were at it again…… They do need help!

All it takes is a bit of sun and out come the knotted hankies

Oh, and don't ask about "The Trike"

As ever, the sun was shining.

Sorry if you couldn't be with us.
