Bourton on the Water Ride Sunday 21st July 2013 Bristol & Gloucester decided that they would like to go to Bourton on the Water after the meeting this month, Details were put on the web site in advance and we were joined by some Members from Somerset and Wiltshire, we even had a chap from the Vultures join us for the day, you were very welcome Colin and I hope you enjoyed it. We had our meeting as usual 10.00 am and welcomed Clare who lives in Bristol, Bill from Wiltshire and a potential new member Pat. We made our way to the car park for 11.15am, Pete & Mary had brought the Somerset team to our meeting point along with Neill who took a video of us leaving The Cross Hands. (Available on VSOC facebook) Alan also very kindly supplied us with photo’s of us leaving. We had a total of 15 bikes leave on the rideout. Four members from Somerset very kindly helped us marshall the ride as there were one or two places where we could have been separated and I would like to say now a huge, huge thank you to Tonker, Ian, Steve & Mark you did an excellent job as we didn’t loose anyone. |

Phil lead us to Bourton as it’s on his way home (I thought he knew the way). When you leave the Cross Hands it is one way, left then immediately right, but Phil decided to go straight on instead of turning right, so we had a tour round parts of Gloucester, Wiltshire and even West Oxfordshire, we arrived at Bourton and found a car park that only charged £1 a bike. We all had a wander around the village, did a bit of sightseeing, had some refreshments and made our way back to the bikes. We then made our way back to The Cross Hands using a more direct route where some went for refreshments or made their way home. Words, Shazza Pictures Alan Prescott Video Neill Mcgrath
