15th August 2015
Ivor and Sylvia were waiting for me at our usual meeting place in Weston closely followed by Steve and Anne and we left spot on schedule at 08.00 heading up the A370 to Bristol. The sun was out and we arrived at St. Nicholas Market to find Pat, Bunch, Hoppy and Alan had already secured our spot in Corn Street. We quickly set up the banners and flags and breakfast was handy as we were directly opposite Wetherspoons, nice and handy!
Whilst Bunch and I were having that breakfast Beano and Kate turned up closely followed by “Dozy” Dave.
The day rolled on and many friends were seen including Maz and Spatch. Bunch bought a new helmet at a great price. We also wandered around the market and enjoyed coffee and a superb lunch. Later in the day Ian “Swampy” Merewether and I had a long chat reminiscing on the past. Bill came by the stand to state he had renewed membership and looked forward to being amongst us in the future as a fully fledged member again. Del Hickey was seen in passing and the day should give us some five or six new members.
Clive and Sue turned up just one hour prior to closing time and still managed to get their bikes up to us. It was stated that Clive had overslept but Sue counter argued that they had a busy day. At least they made the effort and turned up.
We packed up the kit around 16.30 and headed back to Weston having had a lovely day in the warmth of the sun and enjoying the company of all. May I say a big thank you to all those who gave up their time to put on a good show of bikes. Apologies if I have missed anybody out but it was quite a busy day with lots to see and do. A great day out seeing lots of friends, chilling and talking amongst good mates.
