“As the bloke wot writes stuff for TC”

I thought I’d tell you about “His” Latest rideout. Inspired by a weather forecast he’d seen on Friday evening, Terry decided he wanted to visit a place with fond childhood memories spent with his doting mother (doting is an assumption, she may have been trying to drown him). Of course, fifty years on, the place bears no resemblance to the Mudeford Quay that he remembers but that doesn’t matter. He was on a mission to take us all down there and this was looking like the first summer Sunday of the season.

Late on Friday evening I got an email from him

The sun’s shining, lets go to Mudeford on Sunday, we can go down that road you know through Salisbury Plain, then the one through Tisbury, stop at Shearwater or Compton, up Zig Zag Hill, tell everyone, BOB DO SOMETHING!

Well, both my bikes are still on SORN and one of them is at Maff’s having something done to it and I had no plans to ride one until after the MAG shows in early April. But when I got up the next morning I thought, what the hell lets do it. By the evening my bike was back and taxed, I’d phoned a few people, come up with a plan and put it all in an email for Mark to send out.

In all, nine of us threw a sicky from our weekend responsibilities and got our bikes out.

This is what Terry had to say about the day

just a few words of thanks to those who  took the time to join us today,  and make the day what it was,   Magic !    Morning coffee in the airside departure lounge,  before a short meander down some very pretty country lanes to enjoy lunch by the sea in brilliant sunshine.   9 bikes in all took to the streets all wobbling down to Mudeford,   or at least 1 kwacker did,  the rest of us rode with confidence in a straight line. After some fresh sea food and an ice cream, followed by tea . We took a stroll along the prom, before finally returning home.   Happy days.  Thanks again one an all

There is something that he didn’t mention.

Becks happened to notice something on Terry’s “Best of the Best” award winning bike, it has a filthy swinging arm and looks like it has NEVER been cleaned.

Shame on you Terry, we think you should hand that award back

Oh and there was this.

We’d also like to say thanks for geeing us all up and getting us out and about in what we hope is the first of many more rideouts to come this season.

As ever the sun was shining

Sorry if you couldn’t be with us
