Sunday 17^th July 2016

I arrived at the Banwell Garden Centre to find Ivor and Sylvia already there sat outside enjoying the morning sunshine. It was not long until Mark arrived to be followed by Fred and Karen plus Merv and Shirley without the dog! Alan turned up next with Annette following in. A quick meeting to briefly discuss the summer party and a decision was taken to go over to Wells as a biker friendly pub had to be tried out.

Off we went but Fred and Karen went right as we all turned left and went in to Banwell and turned immediately left just by the castle through the lanes to Christon and Loxton and past The Webbington Hotel to arrive and cross the A38 on the Axbridge Road and on through Cheddar and in to Wells itself. We parked in the central car park whilst Alan, Mark and Merv headed back home. That left just Ivor and Sylvia plus Frank and Annette plus me to find The Rose and Crown pub.

The bar top was covered end to end with bits and pieces to eat and all free of charge. Apparently it is a Sunday tradition within the pub, one to be highly recommended! Out the back is a lovely quiet courtyard with small seating areas with different tables and seating either under cover or open the sky. We elected to sit in a covered one and enjoyed a bit of friendly banter and chit chat.

Once satiated, we rode back to Weston in glorious sunshine having completed just fifty miles on a very relaxing rideout. Lovely company and a most lazy ride.
