CENTRE 8 RALLY 2009
"Cans of Comfort"

Bloody weather forecasts, they couldn't have got this one more wrong. We'd gone up on the Thursday with the sun shining, Friday was supposed to be the same so I'd planned a rideout to Ludlow and around the border with Wales, Saturday would be rain so we'd stay on site. Well, as you know it didn't turn out like that.

Friday morning was overcast and as we were looking at the map the rain started. We were in the dome and it chucked it down for about an hour, so, out came "the cans of comfort" and we forgot about the rideout as groups of very wet and bedraggled riders arrived on site and set up in the rain. By 4pm it had stopped and we had a very warm evening.

The bar stocked some very peculiar orange coloured cider that had a bizarre effect on everyone that drank it

Even though they were hosting the rally, centre seventeen and nine inches found time to join in with us.

I won't show you the photos of what Mr B keeps under his kilt, I don't want any trouble with the RSPCB, as I'm now up to my neck in it with the child protection agency. Let me explain……..

After last week's fiasco when uncle Daill left my lovely daughter locked in at Tonna RFC, I took my wife along to welcome her daughter back to the fold

However, Uncle Gerllwyn has put in a claim for child benefit, Uncle Daill put in one for tax credits and just to strengthen his claim he has applied for custody. Well, this alerted the social services and that night I got a phone call from a child protection officer by the name of Ms Vicky Braoff informing me that she had ordered in a snatch squad, my precious daughter is now in a care home and I am the subject of a child neglect investigation and may well be prosecuted!

How on earth will Heidi and I explain this one to the neighbours?

On a more positive note, I picked up "best paintwork" Neil got "best warrior" and Pete from 17 and an eighth got "best 1100 virago".

The Weekends theme was Rocky Horror.

And lastly…………If you want to advertise your party

As ever the sun was shining

But not when it was supposed to

Sorry if you couldn't be with us.
