Coleford Festival of transport 2019

Waking up to a sunny Easter Monday morning and full of the joys of erecting a gazebo and stand before 8 o'clock Dawn and I with our trusty amigo Neil made our way to Coleford. Dawn and Neil riding, me in the car laden with kit and plenty of chairs. Once all erected and flags out ready for our members to arrive I left to get my bike.

Coleford Festival of transport is held every year in the Town centre and its a great opportunity to promote the club and recruit new members. Over the next hour the guys and gals arrived to put their bikes on display with lots of hugs and kisses and exclamations of "good to see you" and "haven't seen you in ages".

There was a good turnout from across the centre with 10 bikes on the display, there was Neil, Pete and Mary from Wiltshire. Chris, Sue and Archie and Kate and Dave from Somerset and Dawn, Janice, Maz, Bobbie and I from Gloucestershire, everyone participated in manning the stand and chatting to the curious, to which I thank you for without your support the stand would not have looked so impressive and successful.

The Town centre streets were full of vehicles ranging from vintage, customised and standard motorbikes, cars, military trucks and of course being in the countryside tracterzzzzzz ooh ah! The public were out in force and we certainly generated a lot of interest, Dawns pink 535 always attracts a lot of girlie's and she spent a lot of the time helping youngsters onto her bike for photo opportunities. Also Bobbie one of our newer members has a Raider with practically all its bits chromed, this went down a storm with the punters and at one point we were thinking of issuing sun glasses to avoid the glare.

Too soon the day was over, so with lots of hugs and kisses again we went our separate ways home safe in the knowledge that everyone had had a good time.
