For some Scrumpies Sunday 2nd April started at 08:30 whilst for others it was a little later that they started out in the cold morning air, starting their April Fool Run day by heading for Ollies café at Blandford Forum

Bikes started to arrive at the café from just after 9 and as the sun got warmer, the bikes continued to roll up. Just before 11am, the sound of bikes heralded the arrival of the Wiltsire Scrumpies led by Angie.

After a short rest to warm up with hot food and drinks, 34 bikes led by Steve from Dorset, left the café and headed for Moors Valley.

With the temperature rising and sun shining, the leisurely pace along quiet roads was a pleasant reminder of what we had all been waiting for during the winter, to get out with good company and enjoy our bikes.

On arrival at Moors Valley, some folk set off to explore what it had to offer whilst many took the gentle option of sitting in the sun, reminiscing over past ride-outs and planning the summer ahead.

It wasn’t the venue or the weather that made the day one to remember, it was the great Scrumpy personalities who made the effort to travel the length and breadth of Scrumpyland to support the April Fool Run.
